Initially, the task was to familiarize the pupils as well as possible with the use of iPad and Garageband and the basics of songwriting. The pupils worked in Finnish-German workshops, and during the first week the tunes were completed. Mikko Myllykoski from the University of Jyväskylä gave a one day lesson about the music technology. The evening program included for instance a visit to the world’s largest smoke sauna in Jätkänkämppä and open-air swimming in frozen Lake Kallavesi. We also visited the Museum of Mechanical Music in Varkaus.
There are two videos on YouTube about the first project week.
